Thank you for involving me in the ELTDP symposium in Kuching. I learnt a lot from the mentee presentations. I am already starting to apply some fun puppet activities with Level 2 in my school. I hope this will motivate my pupils to
speak English. Hope to see you all again soon.

It was great for me too to see so many interesting presentations and teachers looking so confident presenting. Well done to those who organised the symposium and to everyone for getting through the nerves. Hoping you can share your experiences at Kuching with all those who couldn't make it...

...I thought the symposium was a fantastic demonstration of everything that you and your mentees have achieved during the project. I know you don’t need me to say this – but you should be very proud. I thought the organising committee did a great job – from the logistics through to the arc and pace of the whole event. The strong philosophy underpinning the whole project really came through, and the pride in the eyes of your mentees as they talked about their achievements was really, really inspiring...

...A moment to stop and reflect on our fabulous symposium. It was wonderful, very efficiently managed and jam packed with amazing success stories... The place was suffused with a very strong sense of celebration that all of us felt...Such a successful event is the result of a great deal of work by so many of you, starting with the challenge of actually encouraging mentees to contribute. A much quoted line from Lao-Tzu,” A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step” was mentioned several times at the symposium.
Tricia Thorlby, Project Director, ELTDP (by email)
...It was a real pleasure to meet you and your colleagues and to participate in the ELTDP Symposium last week. The Symposium itself was fantastic - beautifully organized, very friendly, some great workshops by the mentees confidently displaying all they have learnt from their wonderful mentors, and I enjoyed every minute both professionally and personally...
